Creating the Appliance Boot Stick

To create an Appliance Bootstick you will need a min. 8GB USB stick, which should be formated with a FAT Filesytem.

Continue with the next steps:

http://www.beronet.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/bootstick/
1.) Download the tuxboot-0.5.exe
2.) Download newest *.zip file
3.) Start the tuxboot exe
4.) Choose the USB Stick to flash (!!!be aware to choose the right one!!!)
5.) choose preloaded ISO
6.) choose the BNTA-*.zip file
7.) wait till the files where written, then you're ready

Setup

The beroNet Telephony Appliance will be shipped with an boot-able USB Stick which contains several preconfigured IPPBX Images, which can be directly installed in about 5-10 minutes. To do so just plug the USB Stick and start-up the Appliance. After a few seconds you will get a menu where you can choose between the web or console mode installation.

See more details about the bootstick here:

After you choose your image the installer will proceed and ask for confirmation to extract the image to the hard disk. Please be aware that the whole hard disk will be overwritten at this stage, so don't proceed if you don't want to lose your files.

More information regarding the particular images can be found in the next chapters.

Of course you are free to install your own System on the beroNet Telephony Appliance, just use one of the several USB Ports to install your favourite Operating System (Linux / 3CX ) or any IPPBX system.

3CX Image

This image is based on Windows 7 Profesional 64bit (German) and already includes a 3CX PhoneSystem Version 11 free Edition. You can test this image for a period of 30 days before you have to activate it with a proper license.

Image Details:

Operating System
-Windows 7 Professional 64bit
-IP Address : has to be set (dhcp is activated default)
-Credentials: have to be set (are entered during the installation)
Telephony Software
-3CX Version 11
-Credentials: admin / beronet
berofix Gateway
-berofix Gateway
-IP Address: has to be set (using C:/beroNet Telephony Appliance/bfdetect.exe)
-Credentials: have to be set (admin / admin by default)

Note: You have to set an IP-address for the berofix gateway, before you can access it directly.

Optional configuration

We recommend the use of a Windows network bridge. To use the Network Brigde under Windows based Systems (Windows SBS Versions don't seem to support Network Bridging) open "network connections" Window. As already seen in the chapter IP-Forwarding, you will see two Network controllers. Your standard Host Network Controller ("Local Area Network Connection 1") and the beroFix Network Controller ("Local Area Network Connection 2"). To create the Network Bridge please select both connections and click the right mouse button. The following context menu will appear:

Network connections.png

Click on "Bridge connections", after this a third Controller will appear, our Network Bridge:

Bf winconf bridge2.png

As you might notice the network controllers don't have IP Address's any more. You can only assign an IP-Address to the bridge controller. By default the bridge is in DHCP mode. If you please mark the bridge, click the right mouse button, choose "Preferences" and configure an IP-Address. At that moment the network bridge is reachable throughout the LAN and you can therefore reach the beroFix web-interface. For example:
Let's assume your LAN is 172.20.0.0/255.255.0.0, your bridge got an IP 172.20.5.194 and you configured beroFix internal IP address to 172.20.70.11. Through the configured bridge, the beroFix device is reachable from the whole network now, if your firewall is not blocking it!
